FATAL ERROR Could not find mysqld

安装mysql-5.5.29-linux2.6-i686
按照http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.1/z...，到

root@Tony-Laptop-Ubuntu:/usr/src/mysql/mysql# scripts/mysql_install_db --user=mysql

FATAL ERROR: Could not find mysqld

The following directories were searched:

    /usr/libexec
    /usr/sbin
    /usr/bin

If you compiled from source, you need to run 'make install' to
copy the software into the correct location ready for operation.

If you are using a binary release, you must either be at the top
level of the extracted archive, or pass the --basedir option
pointing to that location.

试试这个：

scripts/mysql_install_db --user=USERNAME --basedir=/usr/local/mysql

// --user 为你所使用的用户名
// --basedir 为 mysql 安装目录

出现：FATAL ERROR: Could not find my_print_defaults 可以试试下面的命令：

/usr/local/mysql/scripts/mysql_install_db --defaults-file=/etc/my.cnf --basedir=/usr/local/mysql --datadir=/mnt/mysql --user=USERNAME
